From the Only Girl on the Pitch...
My journey into cricket started under the Texas sun, fueled by my father’s absolute love for the game. When he introduced me to leatherball cricket at the Sugar Land Youth Cricket Club (SLYCC) in 2020, the landscape looked entirely different from what it does today. Back then, I was one of only two girls playing cricket in all of Houston, and the absolute only one at my club.
For years, my training ground meant practicing, executing drills, and playing matches exclusively with the boys. It wasn't just about learning how to handle a fast delivery or perfect a cover drive; it was about proving that I belonged on that pitch. That grit sparked a deep, unwavering passion for the sport, and by 2021, I officially entered the USA Cricket pathway, earning a spot on the U-19 Women’s Training Group.
...To the Global Stage
In 2022, the hard work paid off. I was selected for the USA U-19 team for the bilateral series against the UAE. Walking onto that field was my first taste of elite, high-level women’s cricket, and it changed everything.
Just a year later, in January 2023, I wore the Stars and Stripes on the ultimate stage: the inaugural ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa. Facing powerhouse nations like Australia, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka under the international spotlight was a defining chapter. It showed me what was possible when talent meets relentless opportunity.
But I had my sights set on something bigger. In 2024, that moment arrived. I made my debut for the Senior USA Women’s National Team during the T20 World Cup Qualifiers. Walking out against Sri Lanka, I locked in—scoring 20* off just 15 balls and executing the USA’s first runout in five years.
Pioneering a Movement
When I look back at 2020, I barely recognize the cricket landscape. Today, women's cricket in the United States is exploding. As one of the pioneers of the women’s game right here in Houston, I take immense pride to see our city launch its own Houston Women’s Cricket (HWC) team—fielding a full, fiercely competitive roster that wins tournaments nationwide.
I didn’t just witness this growth; I helped lay the bricks for it.
The Next Frontier: LA28
My journey with the USA Women's National Team is just getting started, but elite sport requires elite resources. From intense training camps and high-performance strength and conditioning to international travel and specialized gear, the path to the top cannot be traveled alone.
My ultimate goal is locked in: to represent the United States at the LA28 Olympic Games.
